Eligibility: Students who reside in Maryland ages 14-18

The STEMbassador Experience

The inaugural Youth STEMbassador cohort will participate in a seven-month learning community with two primary goals:

1. MOST will provide the youth leader participants with experiences that offer them unique networking and skill-building opportunities that will strengthen their STEM college and career readiness.

2. Youth leaders will  design and execute a project connecting peers or younger students in their communities to STEM learning opportunities.

STEMbassador Project Parameters

• Connects at least 20 students to STEM learning opportunities
• Concludes before the end of the 2024-2025 school year
• Incorporates at least one partnership
• Activities could include workshops, fairs, information campaigns, and special events.
• Option to work with an Advisor (Teacher/Afterschool Program staff as ex.)
• Project Budget $1000 Mini-Grant Provided By MOST

Timeline

• Applications open September 2024 - Deadline October 6, 2024
• Acceptances to be announced in mid October 2024
• Orientation Late October/early November 2024
• Monthly Meetings November  & December 2024
• Twice Monthly Meetings January & February 2025
• Project Completion March- April 2025
• Closing Celebration April 2025
